My project is linked to a social-impact start-up that my husband and I have been working on, but it's an outgrowth that I initiated and will run as a non-profit project to benefit Israeli soldiers who returned home from active duty and also impact their wives and families. The company uses greeting cards on the level of art along with professional marriage counselors to empower husbands who wish to learn to write / talk to their wife. Husbands choose a greeting card, take a quiz, and then schedule a video-counseling session with a certified counselor to write a letter with the counselor’s help. Then they write their letter and present it to their wife – a first step towards improvement – after which I then offer additional resources and referrals to assist them as needed.

I seek to answer the question, "Would our innovative cards and counseling service be beneficial to Israeli reservists in helping them adjust to life back at home and, in particular, with their domestic harmony, and if so, which populations benefit the most?"

Cards were created by a team of women artists and designers, at one time we had an office space with ten workers assembling the cards which I managed. They have been donated to my project as a gift, and together with the Fix The Universe grant this would allow me to subsidize the cost of the certified counselor’s sessions so the reservists would not need to pay anything. I estimate that I will be able to serve 100 reservists over the course of two months from the date funding is in place.
